Tell others about Jesus like Isobel Kuhn did: Though we are not all called to the ministry of Foreign Missionary, we are all called by God to share our faith (witness) with those who are not Christians. Some Bible verses that you will find helpful for doing this, and that you may want to commit to memory are found on other pages on our web site (see: Memory Verses; 2nd Set: Salvation!, Plan of Salvation, and Statement of Faith). _____________ © 1987 Lois Hoadley Dick. Author: Lois Hadley Dick An Inspiring Story of a Woman Who Answered God's Call to the Lisu People of China. A Challenging Story Which Gives New Understanding to "Pioneer Missionary Work"! Canadian Girl Discovers Peace With God It was the 1920's, and a lady named Isobel Selina Miller was making her mark in the theater, social, and academic world. But through her mother's prayers and after a tragic romance, "Belle" discovered peace with God. As a certified teacher, she was met with the same struggles in her new-found faith that others have faced. Preparation at Moody Bible Institute was completed with honors, and eventually she sailed to China as a missionary. After reading about Hudson Taylor and The China Inland Mission, she felt a call to China, and specifically, to the Lisu people. Preparation at Moody Bible Institute was completed with honors, and eventually she sailed to China as a missionary. There she married John Kuhn whom she had first met at her training at Moody. Together they faced hardships, long separations, severe illness, war, and death itself. Yet through all this the church among the Lisu people grew in faith and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. ________________________ |
