              The Ten Commandments                 (From: Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 5:1-21)

(Note: This is the version excerpted and compiled by Monk Preston from the King James Version of the Bible (the word "shalt" has been changed to "shall").  If your Church uses a different version, you may prefer to memorize that version instead.)

1. I am the LORD thy God.  Thou shall have no other gods before me.

2. Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image.  Thou shall not bow down to them, nor serve them.

 3. Thou shall not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.

 4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

 5. Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land. ____________________________________________________________

6. Thou shall not kill.

7. Thou shall not commit adultery.

8. Thou shall not steal.

9. Thou shall not bear false witness.

10. Thou shall not covet anything that is thy neighbor's.
