Why We Usually Only Review Books We Like: We have noticed that many Christian Bookstores (as for-profit businesses) unfortunately seem to carry everything that anyone might want. Generally, 1/3 of their books are very good, 1/3 are very poor (some are even outright heretical) and the other 1/3 we know nothing about, one way or the other. As a Non-profit Christian ministry, we are free to only review books that we feel are generally sound and may be beneficial to someone. (Disclaimer: we of course do not always agree with every statement made in every book--read everything with discernment). We read the books we know nothing about, review any good ones, and spare you the poor ones. ____________ What we believe and teach Doctrinally may be seen on our pages: Statement of Faith, including: Plan of Salvation. ____________ "Naturally, since I myself am a writer, I do not wish the ordinary reader to read no modern books. But if he must read only the new or only the old, I would advise him to read the old... ...It is a good rule, after reading a new book, never to allow yourself another new one until you have read an old one in between. If that is too much for you, you should at least read one old one for every three new ones." -C. S. Lewis _______________ Have you received Christ as your Lord and Saviour? Find out how to do so on our page: Plan of Salvation _______________ Tell others about Jesus like Monk Preston & Monk Linda do: Though not all Christians are called to Found a Christian Ministry, we are all called by God to share our faith (witness) with those who are not Christians. Some Bible verses that you will find helpful for doing this, and that you may want to commit to memory are found on other pages on our web site (see: Memory Verses; 2nd Set: Salvation!, Plan of Salvation, and Statement of Faith). _______________ |
